Job Title : Associate Engineer – IT Operations Center
Location India – Hyderabad
Job Function The IT Operations Center (ITOC) Technician will be responsible for network monitoring and providing support to Network Engineering and managed services, network engineering, network maintenance, maintenance of network servers and routers, network trouble isolation and resolution, assisting in the resolution of customer service impacting issues, and Tier 2 support to Network Engineering. In addition, the technician provides comprehensive Tier 2 support for enterprise-wide backup and recovery services for both servers and desktop workstations, which includes monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting, day-to-day application administration, and hardware maintenance. ITOC Technicians are also responsible for using a consolidated event management system to provide consistent notifications and escalations to Tier 3 service groups during service degradation and outages. ITOC technicians also perform triage and escalation to Tier 3 groups for any IT issues. Other miscellaneous services include data archival, extractions, and duplications. Should be willing to work after hours ONCALL support rotation. The responsibilities are for 7×24 IT Operations center roll call. Responsibilities IT Engineer Associate – IT Operations Center is responsible for all triages monitored by Centauri. Also responsible for all L1 & L2 Network activities and NBU. Skills/Experience Provide monitoring and overall support to the successful operation of Qualcomm’s network (domestic/International offices of Qualcomm)
. Work closely with Operations and Network Engineering to test and install network equipment and services
. Provide support to managed services, including routers and switches. Work closely with Network Engineering to ensure managed services functionality meets or exceeds customer expectations for performance
. Perform network trouble isolation and resolution as needed. Provide Tier 2 support to ITCS to ensure customer network performance. Work closely with vendors as needed to reach resolution of service affecting network troubles
. Monitor network capacity utilization
. Perform network maintenance as needed
. Generate end user network performance reports as needed
. Performs day-to-day application administration and maintenance of VERITAS Netbackup Datacenter and VERITAS Netbackup Professional products used for enterprise backup and recovery services.
. Works closely with Tier 3 organizations and vendors to resolve difficult backup infrastructure problems.
. Troubleshoots backup hardware infrastructure problems and places service calls when problem cannot be resolved.
. Troubleshoots and resolves client-side backup software problems.
. Performs data restores for both server and desktop workstations in the event of data loss or corruption.
. Load tape media into automated tape libraries at multiple sites.
. Perform consolidated event management for all of Qualcomm IT using Proxima Centauri.
. Produce reports with metrics on service requests, problem management, backup and statistics, number of events for IT and business units, etc.
